You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and amazing designers and researchers to drive a user-centered design process for medium to large sized projects that impact multiple parts of the product portfolio. Product Designers serve a vital role at Verizon Media and help to define the vision for new features while owning and driving the craftsmanship for every interaction and visual design detail. You thrive on collaborating with cross-functional peers to bring clarity to ambiguous product and design challenges. You have proven experience taking broad concepts and turning them into something that is useful, valuable, and delightful to users. You want to play a key role in developing and executing a creative strategy around user-centered design initiatives, mixing business and user goals to create awesome experiences for our users. An ideal candidate will also have experience designing simple experiences for a complex space that feature a lot of interaction--data visualization experience is a plus!Your DayCollaborate globally with product management, engineering and other stakeholders to define design vision and implement intuitive user interactions with our products and applicationsConceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocksLead innovation with stunning visual designs and effectively communicate them through wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, etc. for final hand-off to engineeringPresent and justify design rationale and key milestone deliverables to peers and stakeholdersEstablish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standardsApply user-centered experience design practice and participate in regular user researchParticipate in multiple projects simultaneously from planning to launchMore About YouMFA, BFA or BS in Design, Human Centered Design, Human Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Visual Design, or equivalent experience5+ years of total experience in mobile, product, graphic, interaction or information designStrong interaction design skills with the ability to document user experiences with task flows, user flows, process flows, UI flows, and user journey mapsCross platform design skills in mobile web and desktop highly desired (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript)Knowledge in screen layouts, final production art, information design, typography, color, and compositionProficiency in Sketch, Invision, Framer, Principle, Keynote or other visual design, wireframing and prototyping toolsExperience working in an agile environment and with rapid prototyping.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills and ability to defend design decisionsKnowledge of accessibility best practicesExperience designing data visualization is a big plusVerizon Media is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
