Ameresco currently has a new opportunity based in our Chicago and/or Oak Brook Office for a Senior Project Manager.


Provide daily administrative and technical management of renewable construction projects delivering energy savings for public, institutional, industrial, government, and commercial customers. Management of full project budget, project schedule, and financial analysis Direct interface with Ameresco customers managing customer service, relationships, contracts, etc. Assist Engineering and Development Team in project design and development including scope, subcontractor selection, cost estimation, installation, and project scheduling. Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to assure competitive cost, best schedule and delivery for all project-related equipment, supply installations, and construction services. Directly manage vendors, subcontractors, and construction managers (site superintendents) to ensure quality control and project delivery on time and within budget, while meeting or exceeding customer expectations. Schedule management; update schedules to reflect current information, monitor critical path activities, and track outstanding items. Work closely with the Project Finance, Construction, and O&M Services teams to satisfy all requirements for commercial operation and financial close. Evaluate technologies and equipment; recommend most suitable for each application. Provide project reports, documentation, technical assistance, support, and collaboration. Manage project expenditures and job cost accounting processes: including accuracy, documentation, approvals, payment reporting, monthly forecasting and tracking. Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes. Foster positive and effective business relationships at all levels and project phases. Perform other duties as required.


Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 5 years electrical, mechanical, engineering, or industrial power construction project management work experience focusing on complex facility infrastructure construction, renovations, retrofits, upgrades, building controls and automation, energy services, and renewable technology. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management or related field from an accredited university. Additional Preferred Qualifications: Direct P&L responsibility for Solar, Renewable Energy or Power Generation projects from $1M - $25M. Demonstrated work experience with other non- renewable technologies; direct digital energy controls systems, variable frequency drives, high efficiency motors, central plant chiller and boiler installations, lighting retrofits, warranty and service requirements preferred. Proven experience with OSHA safety standards, mechanical and electrical systems development, engineering, and project management regulations, practices, and codes. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and foster positive business relationships. Strong verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills. Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Project, AutoCAD. U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required. Valid Drivers License in good standing, issued by resident state. May be required to pass security clearance investigation. May require on-call response and travel.
