**Position** : Buildings & Grounds Manager **Location** : Orient Point, NY ASRC Federal Field Services, a Subsidiary of ASRC Federal Holding Company, is currently seeking a Buildings & Grounds Manager at the Plum Island Animal Disease Research Center, located on Plum Island, NY. (1.5 nautical miles off North Fork of Long Island & 6 nautical miles off coats of Old Saybrook, CT) transport furnished. **Key Role:** Manage a department of trade people and oversee operations, maintenance, administration, and improvement of facility property. Areas of responsibility include, warehouse services, grounds keeping, building maintenance and general maintenance support services. Schedule and direct daily work activities of maintenance teams to ensure the efficient and safe operation of equipment, supporting systems as well as planning of preventative maintenance and repairs of equipment. **Roles/Responsibilities:** + Plan, schedule, and coordinate general maintenance, major repairs, and remodeling projects for commercial properties. + Oversight of facility warehouse services to include shipping and receiving. + Supervise and direct maintenance team in support of facility O&M functions to include commercial construction, excavation, roads & grounds, MOSF repairs. + Coordination of the delivery of animals, feed, and general supplies to the island. + Coordinate and provide logistical support to delivery of cryogenics, support of biosafety operations, movement of Hazmat materials and fuel delivery services. + Coordinates and directs a variety of maintenance tasks such as performing office renovations, assembling and moving office furniture, and setting up facility sponsored events. + Ensure the efficient and safe operation of power equipment, supporting systems, as well as planning of preventive maintenance and repairs of equipment. + Maintain equipment inventory and direct preventive maintenance tasks. + Ensure facility operations and maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with all facility & federal regulatory policies & procedures. + Forecast and evaluate operations and maintenance needs; equipment replacement requirements; staffing requirements; and cost effectiveness of programs, equipment, and procedures. + Budget and plan departmental expenditures as well as review and recommend vendors and new technologies. + Ensure adequate and cost-effective supplies and equipment are available to meet the operational needs of the facility. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status._** + Bachelor degree or equivalent experience; 7-9+ years experience in the building maintenance and/or construction field; minimum of 5 years in managing trades. + General understanding of OSHA and NFPA codes and the ability to read construction documents. + Practical knowledge of skilled trades including mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and painting. + Proficient in organizing, communicating with senior management, problem solving, and providing excellent customer service ability to manage, lead and direct a maintenance team. + Ability to manage people and resolve problems using hands on management as well as the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and customers. + Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
