Objectives/Purpose:
The role manages activities and the staff involved in maintaining certain Takeda Business Services (TBS) technologies and processes.
The role looks to see how our technologies can provide further benefits and efficiencies to our TBS team members. Because this position requires, technical proficiency, management capabilities and financial accounting and control capabilities, individuals with a background in accounting/finance, business and systems management will have the best chances for success.
The role works with other management staff and leaders to determine and implement specific technical needs related to Blackline financial close software and will assist with system priorities of the TBS organization.

Accountabilities:

Specifically, the role is responsible for ensuring:
Manage a team of 3 professionals including performance management
Coordination of IT projects and Continuous Improvement initiatives
Identify efficiencies in processes and internal controls related to the business or financial processes
Be the go-between the TBS functions and the IT functions
Ensuring system access is reviewed and approved while considering access controls and segregation of duties (ERP, Blackline etc.)
Manage a software program with global users
Be internal control focused to ensure our control environment remains strong
Manage the activities/deliverables of the team and the individuals
Interface with internal and external stakeholders
Providing guidance for problems and questions

Technical / Functional (line) Expertise:

Maintain the overall control and coordination of the TBS systems support processes by:
Ensure timely and accurate processing of all requests from the TBS function and stakeholders of the organization.
Manage the team's delivery of day to day deliverables as well as participation in broader system projects related to financial processing.
Be able to project manage multiple deliverables to ensure key timelines are met
Manage a team that works with the Blackline administration and look for product efficiencies within the Blackline Financial Close program.
Manage training plans for global users of Blackline and continuously sharing data with our Blackline users/stakeholders.
Look to advance the footprint of Blackline technologies or other technologies as opportunities arise.
Global Blackline administration lead and lead automation of ERP data interfaces to Blackline
Key control are managed and monitored to ensure ERP data is interfaced to Blackline with accuracy
FTP site knowledge
Ensure enabling technology interfaces are tested regularly and are working well to avoid issues with month end.
Supervising the activities of business support analysts covering processing of all requests from the TBS team and beyond.
Act as subject matter expert for any issues relating to the enabling technology processes, Hypercare issues, and assist with the financial close process.
Liaise with counterparts in other TBS locations to solve issues, to knowledge share and maintain consistency.
Review Blackline error system integration logs with the team and ensure remediation.
Provide audit support relating to enabling technologies.
Provide support and identify Continuous Improvement initiatives and ERP enhancements/upgrades and related systems that help support the TBS team and beyond.
Ensure activities of the team are well coordinated and services are constantly monitored to ensure resources are appropriately aligned.
Interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure outstanding service levels are being provided.
Manage projects and project plans to ensure deliverables are met.
Ensure control environment and critical controls are monitored closely and executed with excellence.
Manage a team, ensuring objectives, training needs and development goals are activity pursued to maintain high levels of morale, motivation and productivity.
Frequently review processes for efficiency improvements

Complexity:
Determine enhancements to processes and implement them while maintaining strong internal control.
Be able to work independently or with a team to propose solutions and move the solution forward to completion
Knowledge of the financial accounting close cycle from Accounts payable, accruals, journal entries etc.
Team member should be systems oriented
Complete understanding of Blackline Administration
Identify solutions and be able to analytically think through a problem to get to the solution
Be able analytically look at data trends and propose new team deliverables
Be able to develop a project plan and execute and deliver the desire project outcome on time and on budget

Education / Behavioral Competencies and Skills:
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong knowledge of MS Office - PowerPoint, Excel and Access
Strong knowledge of Outlook email
Ability to have a good understanding of financial transactions within a financials close process
Knowledge of accounting operations within a financial operations team including close accounting activities, accounts payable activity, Purchase Order programs and intercompany activity
Able to work on own initiatives and deliverables and with others under pressure and to demanding deadlines while managing conflicting demands.
A demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross functional team.
Ability to manage different priorities and deliver them to a high quality, demonstrating a hands on approach where necessary to enable the team to meet all of its objectives.
Open and communicative - able to interact effectively at all levels of the organization, both within and outside Finance.
Ability to recognize critical anomalies and raise these concerns to management
Strong analytical skills - able to identify anomalies in data and solve them quickly and effectively.
The ability to manage a team and develop a team by offering growth opportunities along with building team unity and cohesiveness.
Strong customer service focus - understand customer needs and possess the desire and ability to meet and exceed those expectations, demonstrating a high commitment to quality delivery.
Ability to solve problems and think creatively - capacity to provide pragmatic solutions and have the drive to see these through to a successful conclusion.
Ability to handle change effectively and deal with ambiguity.

Required:
5+ years' experience from roles managing a variety of enabling technologies
5+ years in being a people manager
Good working knowledge of ERP systems (strong preference for SAP)
Experience of working in a shared service or large multinational company environment
Manager experience
Internal Controls knowledge related to interface validations
Experience with Blackline Administration and Blackline ERP interfaces
Strong project management skills is critical
Strong analytical skills when analyzing financial data
Strong Organization skills

Desirable:
Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance is a plus
Knowledge of the Blackline SAP connector software and SAP processing
CPA is a plus
IT skills and background
Experience of SAP, JDE, Hyperion HFM, Coupa and Arriba
Experience from the pharmaceutical industry
Understanding of internal controls with systems and process
Advanced Excel skills
Previously a user of the Blackline software

Additional Information:

May require some travel, due to the geography of those colleagues that the role interacts with.
