Job Summary

The Vice President, Global Strategic Sourcing is responsible for developing strategies for Direct/Buy-Sell categories. He/she partners closely with the global sourcing leader and Chief Operating Officer and to develop and execute strategic goals.

The Vice President, Global Strategic Sourcing is responsible for the development and maintenance of strategic partnerships with key material suppliers, tolling partners for the Direct, Buy/Sell categories, aggressively drives cost savings across the category.

The Vice President, Global Strategic Sourcing is responsible for partnering with the global sourcing leader and COO on establishing savings goals and strategies. He/she is then accountable for developing and executing action plans in order to achieve the established savings targets. The Vice President, Global Strategic Sourcing identifies opportunities to leverage suppliers and contract manufacturers and integrate them to maximize competitiveness. Directs a team of international Sourcing professionals to identify, develop, approve, and manage suppliers/partner strategies. Additionally, he/she is accountable for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving all sourcing and management systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

VP, Global Strategic Sourcing (Direct, Buy/Sell)

Develops and maintains a strategic plan to leverage the vendor supply base Develops key suppliers strategies aligned with the Companys direction on quality, cost and service Implementation of this strategy through a strategic action plan to achieve savings targets Identifies key suppliers, negotiates long-term contracts establish pricing, quality standards, productivity targets, timelines, and commercial terms and conditions. Leads execution of sourcing strategies (e.g., RFI/RFQ, supplier qualification, auction rounds, negotiation), providing clear direction to the sourcing team located globally Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models Directly involved with major negotiations to ensure optimum value to the organization develop win-win strategies that achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and utilize emerging opportunities, understands market conditions for key commodities and feedstock drivers Conducts regular strategy and project execution reviews with the global sourcing leader Create annual target plans to deliver cost savings, working capital and productivity goals Develop organization and staffing of organization to reach annual and strategic targets Develop a supplier management program with key suppliers including metrics, performance goals and improvement initiative Supports and works collaboratively with other adjacent functions Develops strong contractual multiyear agreements and partnerships Works collaboratively with Marketing on optimizing line profitability, strategic opportunities Works collaboratively with corporate functions to achieve strategic objectives Maintains and develops as appropriate policies and procedures in accordance with Company standards and local regulatory agencies Performs other duties as assigned with or without accommodation

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

Education:

BS or MSc in Engineering, Business, Economics or a related field required

MBA preferred

Six Sigma and/or Lean Certification preferred

Experience:

Minimum of fifteen (15) years in Strategic Sourcing / Marketing role with at least five (5) years in key management roles.

Proven track record of meeting/exceeding goals and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all functions

Chemical industry experience required

Skills/Competencies:

Strong strategic agility, change leadership, collaboration, negotiation and influence skills

Ability and track record of managing complex sourcing/procurement projects

Numbers-oriented/driven with strong bias for action

Entrepreneurial mindset with focus on value creation

Excellent project management skills

Knowledge of the legal terminology and language related to supplier and/or vendor agreements and contracts

Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities

Ability to work effectively both globally and cross-functionally

Understanding of financial impact of plans and actions

Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, including executive management

Excellent presentation skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

Strong organizational and time management skills

Strong problem solving skills

Can-do mindset, creative, solution not problem focused, action focused, tough Strong customer focus, always thinks total cost of ownership in support of global operations and corporate functions

Other Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint and Word

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE :

The Vice President, Global Strategic Sourcing reports to global sourcing leader. He/she manages a sourcing category and the direct, Buy Sell sourcing team globally. He/she collaborates with employees across all functions and at all levels of the organization, and also works closely with outside vendors/contract manufacturers.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The work environment is an office setting. Travel, both domestic and international, will be required up to 50% of the time.
