Program Manager II
About the role:
The Program Manager will have responsibility for NPD and Commercial Programs.
Initially this Program Manager will play an integral part in our imaging strategy for our leading WATCHMAN portfolio as well as our commercial activities as it relates to the launch of WATCHMAN FLX in the U.S. within the Interventional Cardiology (IC) Division.
Responsibilities include development, execution and leadership of a project/program team to successfully deliver the defined product/solution to business unit management.
Successfully doing so includes developing comprehensive project/program plans, identification and resolution of staffing and resource requirements and issues, and developing and managing the project deliverables
Scope of projects will vary and can include all product support activities from initial launch to product end of life across IC business units and manufacturing sites. Project size ranges from small one-off tasks to large process improvement, design change, design transfers, line extension and projects/Corporate initiatives driving global productivity.
Scope of projects will vary and can include all product support activities from initial PDP kickoff, through product launch, and product end of life across WATCHMAN business and manufacturing sites. While all projects will support franchise imperatives, project size will vary from large commercial launches, both broad and very focused commercial initiatives, line extensions, and regional product approvals and launches.
Your responsibilities include:
Lead cross-functional teams (Research & Development, Design Assurance, Packaging, Regulatory, Process Development, Operations, Supplier Engineering/Quality, Supply Chain, Clinical, Marketing) across business units and manufacturing sites and manage multiple projects from small to large scope, including schedule, scope, costs and resources.
Develops and implements overall project plan, including cost, schedule, risk and performance and monitors progress against business key objectives and goals.
People Management: Manages large (often multi-project, multi-site) cross-functional development teams; leads teams and helps diverse and dispersed project team members to execute towards overall project goal(s); provides input to functional managers on team and team member performance; develops and maintains strong relationships with functional heads.
Product/Technology Management: Manages the technical challenges of technology application and new product development; identifies, communicates, and manages moderate to high levels of technical risk.
Project/Program Management: Manages key initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing processes; develops and implements project plan; builds team ownership and commitment to project plan; mentors and/or coaches other functional and project managers; manages project risks.
Process Management: Implements TDP/PDP; leads team to complete activities to current policies and practices; keeps documentation organized, creates Scaling Plan and Design History File for the project. Identifies process improvements affecting multiple projects.
Communications and Reviews: Responsible for team and cross-functional communications; liaison between the team and the Business Planning Team/Franchise Leadership Team (BPT/FLT); leads phase and business reviews, project meeting minutes, issues log, metrics, and other key communications. Communicates and influences resolution of cross-functional issues.
Key Leadership Competencies
What we re looking for:
Bachelor s degree required, preferably in Engineering or Project Management.
4+ years of relevant experience.
Small and large cross-functional project team lead experience.
Must be willing and able to travel internationally ~10% of the time.
Works under minimal supervision.
PLCP lifecycle knowledge.
Financial management, including budget, forecast, and strategic plan input and preparation.
Demonstrated ability to lead and work together with a cross-functional, multi-site sites.
Strong organization, execution and communication skills.
Candidate to be comfortable in front of all levels of the organization as well as external customers.
Candidate to have strong leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships within project teams.
