Financial performance, including profit, rate, retention, and growth of an approximate $6 million book of multi-line Commercial business with a focus on customers with revenue up to $1B.
Heavy emphasis on generating new, Private Equity-backed business with a goal of $1.5 million in premium.
Act as a resource for any CI Private Equity-controlled portfolio company business or new transactional Private Equity-backed portfolio company opportunity. This involves consulting with CI underwriters on transactional timelines, gathering underwriting information, reviewing the broker/agent due diligence and budget reports, and digging into the Private Equity firm relationship.
Identifying cross sell opportunities within commercial products and services.
Partner and travel with the Midwest Private Equity Deputy Practice Leader, including attending monthly pipeline/open submission meetings with other Business Unit representatives.
Dedicate the majority of travel and submission generation activities on the top tier Private Equity-focused agents/brokers throughout the Midwest, but also seek new opportunities to expand relationships with producers around the region in order to share Chubb s Private Equity story.
Soliciting, selecting and analyzing risk within Chubb s Commercial Insurance guidelines and ensuring proper documentation.
Developing and negotiating price, coverage, and terms and conditions for all new business and renewals and actively identifying account rounding opportunities.
Collaborating with underwriters, risk engineering, operations, claims, marketing and home office product management.
Travel is predominantly in the Midwest and requires approximately 25% of the underwriter s time.
5-7 years underwriting experience
Bachelor s Degree
Multi-line Property/Casualty experience
Solid knowledge of commercial P&C underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices.
Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge with experience handling commercial P&C insurance lines.
Strong analytical skills including financial analysis.
Demonstrated proficiency in sales, marketing and negotiation.
Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.
Experience developing and executing on marketing plans and prospecting initiatives.
Ability to be creative and adaptable in a changing business environment.
Sound, balanced and timely decision-making skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.
