Description Job Description
The Sr. HR Director is a strategic business partner to the Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry (LSMS) business unit, and divisional HR business partner for our operations and finance function. This Senior Director ??s core function is to translate business strategy into key people and organizational strategies, then define and execute solutions and plans according to business and people strategy. Specifically, this role will support the functional strategies to hire, engage, and develop top talent and build the organizational capabilities required for short and long-term business success.
Responsibilities:
* Global responsibility to develop HR strategy, solutions and strategic workforce plans that align to business and functional strategy and objectives
* Act as business partner to leadership teams, combining both support and challenge
* Facilitates organizational diagnosis and uses metrics and analytics to drive organizational effectiveness through talent and organizational capabilities and culture
* Acts with courage as a catalyst for change, balancing intensity with empathy for stakeholder needs; guides and directs organizational design, development and change management solutions with senior executives
* Develops robust talent management plans and drives culture change initiatives to attract, retain, develop, and engage talent in critical roles
* Coaches senior leaders on complex leadership and people issues including development, engagement, and talent performance; trusted advisor and confidant to senior functional leadership
* Builds organizational muscle through focused development of functional leadership team members (i.e., team effectiveness, individual goal development and alignment, building executive capabilities, etc.)
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
* BA/BS required, MA/MS preferred
* Human Resources business partnering experience a large multi-national company (7+ years), with a minimum of 2 years as senior HR generalist and/or business partner supporting leaders in a complex, global business segment
* Experience as a strategic business partner with credibility as a trusted adviser and confidant to senior people leaders on business issues and strategy, with the ability to link human resources strategies and tactics as a driver and influencer of business performance
* Comfortable operating in a highly matrixed organizational environment, with many competing stakeholders
* Experience working with a variety of global functions including R&D, product development, engineering, marketing, strategic planning, operations, and large commercial organizations (sales, marketing and service)
* Experience leading significant change management initiatives to successful outcomes
* Ability to develop solid and positive professional relationships with senior leadership, subordinates and peers in a heavily matrixed environment
* Effective negotiating skills with proven ability to influence without direct authority
* Ability to use a high level of tact, diplomacy, discretion and empathy/understanding in a global environment across multiple cultures
* Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
* Ability to travel 25% of time, as needed
