Description
The Staff Accountant Role provides financial information to management by reviewing monthly general ledger activity, preparing financial accounting reports and journal entries, providing additional necessary analysis of the accounting activity, performing SOX testing, survey completion and special projects as required.

Accountabilities:
Support the accounting area by reviewing or completing various financial transactions and substantiations, including journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations. Research and reconcile any financial discrepancies.
Manage workload in tight-deadline, detail-oriented environment; highly organized. Ability to interface with all levels of the organization
Complete government surveys, as assigned. Identifying requirements, coordinating the related tasks and information needed. Communicating clearly & effectively with all necessary parties.
Complete any financial related projects that are ongoing or on an ad-hoc basis by coordinating the related tasks and researching any outstanding issues
Support the Finance & Accounting departments during all audit engagements including external and internal audits by preparing/reviewing all PBCs (Prepared by Client)
Maintain financial security by following internal accounting controls
Prepare the Sarbanes Oxley documentation, perform related testing and communicate results through identified channels
Support and maintain ethics of the business by protecting customer and financial information, applying companys core values, and complying with policies, procedures, and applicable regulations

Required: Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of experience - Accounting or Finance
Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or equivalent experience
Knowledge of GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley
Self starter willing to go extra mile and be proactive
Ambitious and motivated strong team player to perform and deliver in a fast paced environment
Ability to work under deadlines and shift emphasis when required
Strong attention to detail and accuracy is required
Ability to problem solve and multi-task
Strong analytical analysis and organizational skills
Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
A commitment to documentation and process improvement for assigned areas
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products at the following levels: Excel: Advanced level of skill; Word, Outlook: Basic level of skill
Experience using SAP or similar ERP system
