The Accountant position is responsible for financial statement preparation, comparison of actual financial results to the budget, assistance in the budget preparation, and external audit work paper preparation for assigned Ecumen owned and managed facilities. The Accountant role will be responsible for taking on projects and acting as a department resource in specific areas of accounting expertise (i.e. sales tax, fixed assets, income tax, etc.). Essential job responsibilities include: Prepare and analyze financial statements for entities owned and managed by Ecumen. Ensure accounts are reconciled and reconciling items are resolved in a timely manner. Partner with site leaders and business office staff to coordinate and complete the month end close of the billing system. Provide customer services to off-site staff by assisting with questions, concerns and training. Perform additional assigned responsibilities which could include activities such as maintaining the fixed asset module, bank account reconciliation, foundation accounting, credit card processing, billing expertise, etc. Assist assigned facilities in the preparation of the annual budget including reviewing the proposed budget for reasonableness and verifying the budget has been loaded into the business system properly. Monitor actual financial results against budgeted results and notify management of significant variances or spending trends in a timely manner. Prepare work papers and provide information that supports the annual financial audits. Assist with special projects that may require being part of a cross functional team.
Accountant Minimum Required Qualifications: Education and Relevant Experience: Bachelor s degree and 2 years or related work experience OR Associates degree with 4 years of related work experience OR HS/GED with 7 years of related work experience Ability to communicate effectively Other knowledge, skills and abilities: Preferred Qualifications: Education: Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred
