Reporting to the Head of Worldwide Real Estate and Facilities, the Head of Americas is accountable for all WREF site operations within the North and South American continents. The region serves a population of over 10,000 GSK and other staff, including R&D laboratories and pilot plant, CH R&D laboratories and pilot plant and office accommodation.?

As the Head of Americas you will provide senior leadership and direction to your organisation, delivering best-in-class customer services and alignment to your customers business strategy. You will be responsible for the delivery of Capital projects (total WREF budget is c90m, with a significant portion in the Americas) with the goal to mitigate risk, support GSK business strategy, and improve site environmental sustainability. Additionally, you will be fully accountable for the delivery for the Americas budget allocation (total WREF budget in 2019 of c360m with a significant portion being in the Americas). Financial acumen across the organisation and responsibility for budget delivery with their reporting Site Directors will be a key deliverable

In this highly visible role you will provide strategic leadership for the Site Directors who oversee operations, and the increased scope of engineering, compliance and project management. Additionally, you will serve as the primary liaison with GSK Senior Vice Presidents and other leaders in the Region. You will also implement strategies, policies, standards and guidelines at regional level, as well as oversee the management of policies and procedures for operational regulatory and statutory quality assurance in their functional areas and ensuring that work generated within operations (e.g. calibration, equipment, process plant and facilities maintenance etc.) meets all current regulatory and statutory requirements and expectations.

Additionally, this position will integrate additional sites into the portfolio and onboard facilities currently outside the WREF scope. As the Head of Americas, you must ensure that all additional sites onboarded have a solid business case and provide an operational saving or improved service in line with Modern employer.

We are looking for an individual who can help us to grow, flex and change the responsibilities for this role as WREF continues to transform its operating model and organisational design. We are focused on building a holistic WREF service delivery model and are interested in bringing in Leaders that can help shape how responsibilities are best placed between teams within the function, with the goal being best in class service delivery to our customers. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects for Facilities Management (FM) across the Americas region. Implement and utilize service best practice systems and processes to increase services capability and drive increased satisfaction, revenue and margins. Ensure all sites within the region deliver service standards as set within the central CoE.
  • Overall accountability for services delivery from our suppliers within soft, hard and scientific services.
  • Customer Relationship Management responsibilities with key senior leaders across the Region.
  • Lead the region into a structured commercial model focused on delivery, efficiency, responsiveness, and customer service. Delivering the Americas operational budget.
  • Ensure all internal policies and procedures are adhered, as well as all local governmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Prioritise the Regions capital budget across the sites and deliver projects in accordance with the WREF Project Management CoE.
  • Develop and grow their professional team building a high-performance culture to drive results. Upskill their site directors to take full accountability for all aspects of FM including Duty Holders for external license or statutory Duty Holder requirements.
  • Build relations with non-managed sites within the region and develop integration proposals for sites currently outside of the WREF Scope of service into the portfolio.
  • Technical Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of an Bachelors or equivalent in a Scientific, Business, Engineering or Facilities related discipline. Advanced degree, e.g. Masters or MBA would be preferred
  • Significant facilities management operational experience and operational service delivery within a multinational organisation. Ideally on both provider and client side.
  • Demonstrated track record of providing customer service within a large corporate environment. Including new concept development and evaluation.
  • Ideally experienced in Pharma or regulated environments
  • Excellent senior customer relations management experience.
  • Substantial experience creating and leading high performing teams.
