We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, agile and experienced scientist with lab level expertise in genomics technologies to join the Cellular Biomarkers group within the Bioanalysis, Immunogenicity and Biomarkers (BIB) department based in Collegeville, PA. The Cellular Biomarker Assay Group is responsible for developing and validating cellular and tissue biomarker assays that can be used to support GCP analysis of clinical trial samples in alignment with the Experimental Medicine partners.

The genomics scientists will generate data to support the understanding of disease heterogeneity, drugs mechanism of action, and patient response to treatment at the molecular level through application of advanced genomics technologies, including Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), Single cell analysis, Nanostring, qPCR and molecular characterization of single genes/proteins.

This individual will serve as a group leader and technical expert in applied genomic technologies, providing scientific leadership and guidance on the use of NGS, digital quantification of nucleic acids and single cell analysis to support drug discovery. This role will conduct and oversee all aspects of method development, trouble-shooting, validation and sample analysis for clinical studies requiring genomic technologies endpoints. The successful individual will complete all aspects of the determination; including reagent selection/optimization, sample preparation, sample acquisition, data processing. They will ensure all work is conducted in compliance of GCP regulations (when necessary) and follows the appropriate SOPs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Biomarker Leads and provide biomarker assay support to deliver on biomarker strategy as defined by project needs. Work with data management, programming and bioinformatics scientists to expedite the transfer of biomarker data to clinical team.
  • Be responsible for developing bespoke genomic assays using applied genomic technologies to support clinical studies; delivery of robust, high quality data packages and will demonstrate the ability to critique work to enable lead modalities to be smoothly progressed into clinical development
  • Help lead efforts to investigate novel genomic platforms and imbed within the organization
  • Act as subject matter expert for the transfer of assays to CROs
