HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is a 490-bed acute care facility offering inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical and specialty services. The campus includes Level II trauma capabilities, a Neuroscience Institute, The Heart & Vascular Hospital, a bariatrics program, the Breast Diagnostic Center, a wound care center, a level III Neonatal ICU, and the area s only pediatric emergency department and pediatric ICU. Our Registered Nurses have access to a variety of resources to help you reach your goals including: A comprehensive orientation processValuable mentorship from specialty specific educatorsLeadership development programsState-of-the-art units equipped with the latest technologies in patient care Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Room (ER) What you will do in this role: Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patientMeeting the Standards of Practice for the Emergency Department (ED) and managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipmentParticipate in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient careRoutinely provides triage assessment for patients presenting for treatmentRoutinely performs venipunctures for obtaining specimens for lab testsRoutinely provides intervention in emergency, life-threatening situationsAssumes the responsibility of charging the department, as needed Qualifications: ADN required; BSN enrolled1 year Emergency (ED) experienceCurrent Texas State RN license or compact licenseCurrent Healthcare Provider BLS issued by the American Heart Association requiredEKG certification or successful challenge of EKG examACLS and PALS certification within 6 months of hireTNCC certification required within 18 months of hireCEN certification encouragedNIHSS certification within 6 months of hire, unless currently certified then needs to be maintained.Two acute stroke educational activities attended annually Healthcare Corporation of America (HCA) a community of 94,000 Registered Nurses and 38,000 active physician partners.
