Clear Lake Regional Medical Center Medical Center is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) Intermediate Care Unit 6 east.Responsibilities: Responsible for assessing, planning,implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients.Responsible for meeting theStandards of Practice for the Intermediate Care Unit and managing all assignedpersonnel, supplies, and equipment.Participates in activities to plan,measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care.Responds to Code Blue and implementslife-saving measures, per ACLS protocol.Interprets EKG rhythm strips, on alltelemetry patients.Monitors special drugs, as perphysician order.Assesses patients in an on-goingmanner, per patient acuity.Assists physician with procedures,as needed (i.e., thoracentesis, chest tube insertion, and venous accessdevices). Assumes the responsibility ofcharging the unit, as needed.Responsible for assessment ofpatient with telemetry monitoring and/or continuous pulse oximeter.Responsible for maintaining customerfriendly atmosphere.Draws blood from venous lines.Responds in a customer friendlyatmosphere.Answers call lights, performs hourlyrounding and documentation of via initials.Responsible for physical appearanceof the nursing unit including POU, Storage area, and lounge.Models and reinforces behaviorconsistent with goals for teaching the patient, communicates patient status toappropriate member of the healthcare team, and provides support to the family,as needed.Scanning supplies from P.O.U. area.Responsible for ensuring Through-PutPlan is enforced and followed.Responsible for scanning patientarmbands and administering medications via E-MAR.Responsible for entering orders viaOrder Management in computer and following CPOE orders.Responsible for ensuring core measurepatients are identified and protocols followed.Responsible for maintaining patientsafety goalsQualifications Qualifications: Experience: Prior IMCUexperience preferred. Education:B.S.Nursing preferred.Educationalrequirements appropriate for meeting population-specific needs of patientsassigned to the IMCU. Special QualificationsCurrentTexas or compact state licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners.Current BLS certification from the American HeartAssociation required.ACLScertification within six months of hire.EKGcompetency prior to completion of orientation periodNIHSScertification within six months of hire, must be maintained every two yearsNVCI certification within six months of hire,must be maintained annually8Hours of acute stroke education annually HCA Healthcareranks on Fortune s list of Most Admired Companies for three consecutive yearsand HCA ranks 63rd on the fortune 500 list.
