Illumina is seeking a dynamic, growth-focused, and strategic Finance leader to manage the support of our Enterprise FP&A function. This position will be responsible for partnering effectively with Illuminas senior executive and finance teams, developing forecasting, budgeting and analytical processes to support company-wide financial planning and analysis activities. This position will require a broad range of finance experience including: clear executive communication, business planning and analysis, financial modeling, financial reporting, process development, accounting and business systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading significant change and driving shareholder value in a large company through hands-on accomplishments, relationship building, partnering with executives, financial modeling and data driven analytics. This role will be expected to oversee and ensure finance operations are smooth and efficient by establishing and optimizing day-to-day processes and procedures with our global team. This role will provide effective and inspiring leadership as well as stewardship across the Finance organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Enterprise FP&A tools and processes to support the broader FP&A teams that provide business partner support to Commercial, Research and Development, Operations and Administrative functions worldwide
  • Create monthly packages to be utilized for financial management reporting, including variance explanations, forecast updates, scenario building and other analysis
  • Coordinate the monthly financial management reporting process to consolidate and report on variances to company objectives, calling out business risks/gaps to Senior Management
  • Develop and implement new processes, tools and ideas to further enhance the financial forecasting and analytic capabilities of the finance function
  • Communicate process, template and timeline requirements for monthly/quarterly deliverables to FP&A functions across the company
  • Analyze, synthesize and translate data into key strategic inputs and insights that will drive strategic decision making at the executive level
  • Work closely with the Vice President, Enterprise FP&A and GPO to lead the companys annual operating plan (budget) process, including target setting
  • Prepare quarterly Board of Directors decks, corporate performance reports and dashboards
  • Support monthly/quarterly close process as it pertains to operating expense management, general ledger reviews, headcount reviews, accruals, and other related processes
  • Liaison with the Financial Performance Management (business systems) team to develop tools to support FP&A, and act as a functional expert on various Illumina financial and other key systems
  • Effectively work across the Illumina finance team to ensure everyone is working towards common goals and leveraging common finance services across the team (i.e. FP&A, Accounting, BI) to improve productivity
  • Acquire intense understanding of Illuminas business today, and critical insights into where it is going in the future allowing for innovative concepts and the promotion of new ideas
  • Look for continuous improvement opportunities in our forecast, budgeting and analytical processes
  • Utilize financial systems to complete tasks (i.e. Cognos PAX, Cognos BI, SAP, etc.)
  • Maximize long-term shareholder value while protecting corporate assets
  • Requirements:

  • 10-15 years Finance experience, preferably in a high growth environment
  • Solid analytical abilities and accounting
  • Exhibits clear leadership and development potential
  • Exceptional commitment and track record of accuracy, attention-to-detail and quality while meeting goals or deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal soft skills and ability to establish strong rapport and partnerships at all levels of the organization
  • Self-directed and able to work well and communicate effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Superb verbal and written communication and project management skills
  • Outstanding financial acumen blended with business partnership
  • Ability to credibly achieve results through influence and persuasion
  • Must be driven and highly motivated with positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Passionate about the company mission
  • Fluent knowledge of the elements and drivers of income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flow
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experienced user with knowledge of ERP and business systems such as SAP, IBM Cognos BI and Cognos PAX (TM1)
  • Education:

  • BS or BA in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • MBA strongly preferred
