Current is looking for a Manager,Media Relations for our vibrant and expanding consumer marketing practice. Theideal candidate will be resourceful with an entrepreneurial spirit, a motivatingleader with excellent communications skills, and someone who is passionateabout developing strong relationships with media and journalists to deliver impactfulcoverage for clients. The candidate should have a background in consumer lifestylemedia relations, especially in the consumer technology, culinary, entertainmentand/or home categories. The ability to translate client objectives and businessstrategies into story narratives that the media find useful and compelling is amust.


* Contributeto multi-platform communications plans that leverage the most effective mediaplayers and personalities to meet client objectives
* Translatecommunications strategy into relevant, timely and engaging story narratives
* Keepa pulse on the news cycle and trends to ensure we're inserting clientsnarratives in targeted, culturally relevant and insightful ways
* Proactivelyidentify media themes that could impact a client's reputation
* Representthe agency and clients with journalists to illicit positive, productive andpurposeful coverage
* Generatekey messaging and story narratives (pitches, alerts, releases, social content,etc.) to positively position clients and educate media on the client's point ofview
* Demonstrateknowledge of client business objectives and proactively suggest ideas andprograms to meet those objectives
* Contribute to the careergrowth of junior team members, serving as mentor and role model
* Set and meetcampaign measurement and evaluation criteria
* Preparetimely team and client updates on all stages of project execution


* 4-7 years' experiencein PR (agency or corporate in-house) or media property
* Experienceworking with consumer lifestyle clients/brands
* Journalisticinstincts and skills in uncovering and developing stories
* Trusted, personalrelationships with influential media and journalists
* Possessa deep understanding of the evolving media landscape, consistently keeping apulse on new opportunities and platforms to tell your clients' stories
* Understandhow social media, digital platforms and changes to the traditional businessmodel impact our services to clients
* Demonstrateexceptional written, oral and interpersonal communication skills that areclear, concise and direct, with a keen attention to detail
* Workwell across various teams and talent communities; able to multi-task
* Minimum:Bachelor's Degree


* Experience withclients and accounts that are measurement and evaluation driven
* Strongpresentation skills, poise and professionalism
* Resourceful,entrepreneurial spirit
