RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client in search of a Product Control Analyst in New York, NY.
The primary purpose of the Central Hedging Unit role is to support hedge accounting programs for the Americas. The hedge accounting process entails documentation, initial and on-going hedge effectiveness testing, daily/weekly/monthly hedge P&L evaluation, P&L explain of hedging results, accounting and reconciliation of hedging activity in the G/L, providing commentary and MI on hedging results, pre-testing of new or proposed hedging activities or unique scenarios, and supporting downstream reporting requirements, (e.g. Tax). Due to the need for a critically strong control environment, it is imperative that this role be vigilant and control-minded under all circumstances.
Team Overview:
There is new work that is a result of a project due next year, so they need additional assistance. This team is all onsite aside from 2 resources in Poland. The team is a team of 4 here. The team manages accounting, ledger, valuation and all subjects related to the product control area. The client needs someone who is proactive and ready to push themselves to grow in the role. The person needs to have excellent communication. The work here is front office. Training for the position is on the job training, sitting with others and jumping right in.
Impact on the Business:
Oversee and coordinate hedge accounting in accordance with IAS #39 and FAS #133 rules - fair value and cash flow hedging activities
Implementation of new hedging programs
Assist in on-going monitoring and testing for hedge effectiveness on existing deals
Assist in hedge accounting documentation, including initial hedge testing
Assist in Hedge accounting entries, P&L reconciliation, B&S and OCI substantiation and certification
Daily/weekly/monthly production of hedging results along with P&L explain and commentary
Produce monthly commentary on hedging results of various portfolios supported
Strong skill-set with an understanding/insight into operational issues of fixed income products, including an aptitude towards working with bond math
Working knowledge of IFRS and/or US-GAAP accounting standards
Multi-tasking with focus on product controlling, finance and accounting
Excellent team player, capable of working with others in a dynamic environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
