RESPONSIBILITIES: Kforce has a client that is seeking Contractor - IT Project Manager in Saint Louis, Missouri (MO).
Summary: The Information Technology Services Department is seeking a Contractor - IT Project Manager. This person will be directly accountable to partners, stakeholders, management and project team members for the schedule, budget, and quality of all program elements. They will ensure the project team complies with Federal Reserve System standards including documentation, information security, etc. They will act as the communications conduit to partners, stakeholders, and management and project team members and conducts periodic briefings/status updates.
Looking for an individual with a proven track record of managing large projects, end-to-end delivery with integrated schedules, resources, cost and quality. This individual will develop and revise project materials and maintain project documentation. They will recommend improvements in project deliverables, assists in defining the scope and impact of projects and effectively communicate the impact on the organization. This individual will establish project tasks, timelines, issues, risks, etc., and effectively manage them.
Project Management Activities: * Manage the 5 basic Project Management Process as it relates to Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing * Simultaneously manage multiple, complex projects while managing distributed cross functional project teams * Define the project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility * Actively monitor and update forecasted project risks and issues while employing mitigation strategies
REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems, Management Information Systems or equivalent experience * PMP certification preferred * 5+ years of direct work experience in a project management capacity, especially managing large IT projects * 2-4 years in a demonstrated technical role supporting servers, network, telephony and/or infrastructure implementations * Independent self-starter with a can do attitude and innovative conceptual thinker with a strong blend of analytical and creative skills. * Proficient knowledge of project management concepts, such as, PMBOK, Waterfall, Agile is a plus * Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative style of team leadership is essential * Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels of an organization * Microsoft Office tools are used on a daily basis especially Microsoft Project and SharePoint * Level of required travel is less than 15%
