The Mental Health Practitioner will also provide training to staff on behavior interventions and behavior analysis. *This posting will be used to fill multiple positions on the campus including the Minnesota Security Hospital (MSH)* Primary Responsibilities include: Clinical Competence Consistently demonstrate clinical competence, leadership, and professionalism by working effectively with patients and staff, engaging in team collaboration, and communicating in a positive and respectful manner; Provide input and feedback to the team within the scope of the Behavior Analyst role and clinical training; Practice within the ethical standards of the facility and department service plan; Consistently maintain and seek out opportunities to enhance professional skills; Attend all training mandated by the Director of Behavior Analysis and/or the organization; Treatment Planning Assist the Treatment Team in developing appropriate behavior intervention strategies and adaptive skills for the patients they serve; Develop and implements treatment plans and Individual Abuse Prevention plans; Provide education to program staff regarding the implementation of plans; Treatment Services Develop and deliver skill building psycho-educational groups; Assist in program planning, implementation, and maintenance; Provide individual assistance to patients as needed or assigned. Team Coordination Ensure that operational team meetings and reviews of progress are conducted in a professional, organized and timely manner. Follows policies and practices Comply with all facility and program policy and procedure pertaining to work practices to ensure that facility and program standards are met Incident Command System (ICS) Regardless of classification or position, every employee is responsible for the institution's security. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Must qualify as a \"Mental Health Practitioner\", according to State of Minnesota statute guidelines, which includes: A person providing services to persons with mental illness who is qualified in at least one of the following ways : Holds a bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university and: has at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness; or is fluent in the non-English language of the ethnic group to which at least 50 percent of the practitioner's clients belong, completes 40 hours of training in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness, and receives clinical supervision from a mental health professional at least once a week until the requirement of 2,000 hours of supervised experience is met; or is working in a day treatment program under section 245.4712, subdivision 2 ; Has at least 6,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness; Is a graduate student in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields and is formally assigned by an accredited college or university to an agency or facility for clinical training; or Holds a master's or other graduate degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university and has less than 4,000 hours post-master's experience in the treatment of mental illness. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field.
