The Rapid Prototyping Group is in the Engineering Division, focusing on partnering with Mission Area Groups across the Laboratory to execute rapid prototyping efforts. The Group works on a large variety of programs delivering new advanced technology capabilities in timelines typically under a year. The Group leads mechanical system design and fabrication, electronics system design and fabrication, systems engineering, and the integration into aircraft and other platforms. We also support laboratory and field-tests that occur with this hardware.
Under the direction of Group technical staff, Co-Op interns studying in the areas of Mechanical/Aerospace engineering fields will participate in the design, fabrication, testing and assembly of hardware components into the systems being delivered.
Currently enrolled in a program of study in engineering or physics (Mechanical, Aero/Astro, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering or Physics preferred.)
GPA 3.0/4.0 or higher.
Some experience with Solidworks CAD tool strongly preffered.
Completed at least through sophomore year of university.
