The group is looking to increase its use of modern digital MBSE tools.Example projects include satellite passive imaging sensors, space and ground laser communications systems, and airborne laser radar and imaging systems on both manned and unmanned aircraft.The Systems Engineering Group contributes to the development of a space, airborne, and terrestrial systems. The staff in the group provide systems engineering, including trade studies, architecture development, requirements development and flow down to subsystems, risk reduction testing and assembly, integration and test planning. The staff have broad expertise across multiple scientific and engineering disciplines including astrophysics, aerospace, mechanical, and electrical engineering. Example projects include satellite passive imaging sensors, optics for space-based and ground-based laser communications systems, airborne laser radar and imaging systems on both manned and unmanned aircraft, high power laser systems, and small satellite systems design, fabrication, test, and operation. The group is trying to expand its use of modern digital MBSE tools.Position Description:The selected candidate will support a full range of systems engineering activities for multiple programs on a team including exerienced systems engineers. We hope that the candidate will be able to help us expand our use of MBSE tools.Qualifications: Education: MS Physics, Mechanical, or Aero/Astro Engineering. Candidates with a Batchelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience as system engineer for space or airborne systems will be considered. Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and integration of hardware and software are helpful.Experience: The candidate should have demonstrated experience working in multi-disciplinary teams, excellent communication skills, and the ability to produce and present professional written reports and presentations.
