The CAD Manager is responsible for managing and leading design projects and CAD personnel on wastewater and waste-to-energy projects within a multi-discipline project team. Our projects include water treatment, wastewater and biogas facilities that are at various phases of design and in remote locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages and oversees the designs and drawings for wastewater and/or waste-to-energy projects and collaborates with Project Managers and Engineers on related tasks.
Responsible for completing and modifying design tasks within budget and on schedule for treatment facilities, equipment, plumbing, piping, wells, pumping stations and other site elements as required.
Identifies and troubleshoots existing and/or potential issues with drawings, provides solutions, and recommends areas for process improvement as appropriate.
Responsible for preparing design layouts for proposals and ensures conformance with specifications and client requirements.
Oversees the training, mentoring and development of CAD staff and entry-level Engineers in company procedures, CAD standards and related software.
Manages and addresses employee performance and expectations as well as any employee concerns, and escalates as needed.
Manages projects and related tasks including, but not limited to, coordinating project design teams as needed, recognizing project design needs, delegating work appropriately and communicating needs to management as appropriate.
Performs QA/QC to ensure compliance with company CAD standards within the scope of assigned projects.
Serves as a technical resource for discipline specific software questions and answers.
Manages and maintains database of design records for future reference.
Maintains confidentiality at all times.
Exercises safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.
Participates in Company s continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts.
Keeps up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Associate s Degree or higher, preferably in CAD
5+ years of design experience with industrial projects using AutoDesk CAD products including Plant 3D
2+ years of supervisory experience
Ability to utilize 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings
Familiarity with engineering and architectural symbols, plans and other related drawings
Proficient with Microsoft Office software, Google and/or PC programs
Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Solid organization and time/project management skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Able to work independently manage multiple responsibilities (i. e. self-starter, self-motivated)
English language competency
Willingness and ability to travel as needed
Bachelor s Degree in CAD
10+ years of design experience with water and/or wastewater projects
CAD Technology certificate
Project Management experience
