Position Summary: This position is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, support, oversight and overall management of Salesforce.com (SFDC) innovation and analytics to directly support the success of Valassis. This includes spearheading the SFDC project & enhancement roadmap and efforts across the Core, Digital and Clipper SFDC environments. This role will require significant cross-functional communication & collaboration to ensure alignment and prioritization of small, mid and large-scale projects while ensuring SFDC best practices are employed and supported. This individual will also ensure the day-to-day activities and support processes of the individual SFDC environments are current and user issues, bug fixes and training needs are addressed/resolved in a timely manner. The Core, Digital and Clipper SFDC support team will report into this position.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assess company initiatives and priorities to effectively build, communicate and reinforce a strategic SFDC plan/roadmap that supports the company's highest priorities and ensure alignment across executive management
* Be or become SFDC system and process subject matter expert for the organization, across all three environments (Core, Digital and Clipper)
* Project lead & system owner managing and ensuring successful completion of the Core + Digital SFDC Consolidation project:
+ Ensure completion of technical discovery phase and review all documentation to gain a deep understanding of consolidation options and determine best approach, taking into consideration overall impact to the business, impact to users, risks, cost, timing, effort required, training needs, etc..
+ Once technical discovery phase is complete & business processes are defined* (sales process & cross-functional collaboration needs/processes), define/finalize final SFDC consolidation recommendation, timeline and budget needs; present recommendation to executive management to obtain alignment and approval for execution phase (*this role is not responsible for defining/owning the sales process, but can collaborate and provide input into process discussions to help build a consolidated SFDC system which best supports the sales & cross-functional collaboration processes)
+ Define core project team and determine resource needs; secure/align necessary internal and/or external resources for successful execution (if external resources are deemed necessary - interview & evaluate and contractors or consultants to secure top talent, lead & approve time cards for external resources as needed)
+ Determine key cross-functional team members to form project steering committee to ensure organization wide alignment, support, collaboration and commitment during project duration and post-launch
+ Monitor progress & budget throughout project and continuously communicate overall progress, wins and set-backs to executive leadership, cross-functional partners, and other key stakeholders
+ Define training plan and post-launch support plan to ensure smooth rollout and post-launch success; facilitate training and post launch support, as required
* Project lead & system owner to review, design, implement, approve, support & oversee all other SFDC initiatives of all sizes:
+ Document, review and prioritize all SFDC project & enhancement requests
+ Gain a deep understanding of the business requirements & propose solutions that are the most efficient and effective for the company and SFDC users, taking into consideration:
o All one-time and on-going cost considerations
o Existing SFDC (or other) solutions/options (vs building custom, when applicable)
o Existing internal systems and tools
o Potential process or system conflicts
o User impact
o Company impact
+ Gather feedback from users to identify needs, make design decisions, and resolve complex issues
+ Continually work to improve the user experience and usefulness to the business
+ Stay current on new SFDC releases and apply the updates for the good of the business
+ Design and optimize business processes, including integrating across systems, as applicable
+ Overall management & oversight of large-scale projects including involvement in planning, documentation, execution, testing, training and launch
+ Determine and implement strategic strategies to achieve goals
+ Work closely with SME's requesting bolt-in functionality to ensure alignment between their tools and/or processes and SFDC; identify & communicate potential roadblocks/issues and lead collaboration toward resolution
+ Ensure IT compliance across platforms
* Work with direct team and cross-functionally with other internal users and teams to best support, maintain & proactively enhance all SFDC environments
+ Work with internal partners to identify system and process improvement and enhancement opportunities; deliver results that support business strategies
+ Continue to review, improve, document and communicate SFDC business processes to increase adoption and derive maximum value out of SFDC investment
+ Assess technology solutions that best meet above priorities, including analytics & process automation solutions, and work closely with leader, team and peers where appropriate to recommend appropriate solutions
+ Ensure data integrity across all SFDC environments
+ Support Core SFDC inbox & hotline, Digital case queue, and Clipper case queue, when able
+ Ensure timely resolution of escalated SFDC problems/issues for Core, Digital and Clipper; solicit cross-functional assistance to resolve issues, as needed
+ Monitor SFDC license allocation and license needs across Core, Digital and Clipper SFDC environments
* Manage vendor relationships, especially relationship with Salesforce partners, and partner with Procurement to ensure fair agreements that add significant value to Valassis
* Ensure development and updating of appropriate training plans, support materials and other documentation for users; coordinate, facilitate and/or support training sessions as needed.
* Manage and mentor distributed team:
+ Ensure associates are meeting and exceeding their goals and objectives
+ Develop and mentor associates toward individual career goals
+ Support and ensure ongoing learning to support personal and professional growth & advancement
+ Address performance concerns in a timely and effective manner
+ Determine team resources needs, review/update/draft job descriptions, interview/hire/train new associates
+ Review & approve timecards for external contractors when applicable
Education & Knowledge:
* Bachelor's degree preferably in the fields of Computer Science, Marketing, Business or related field
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
* Theories, principles and practices of information systems and related application areas, software and hardware, system development, life cycle, system design, database management systems, techniques and design
Experience / Skills and Competencies:
* 3+ years experience and deep understanding of SFDC
* 5+ years experience with software development, system administration and managing complex programs
* Project Management Experience
* Experience in cloud technologies
* Ability to build ROI business cases as needed
* Experience in managing budgets is preferred
