Position Summary:


We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Asst Research Scientist.



The Assistant Research Scientist position will report to the Director of the Metabolomics Core Resource Laboratory. The candidate will work closely with other staff members in the core to provide exceptional service to clients. Performing metabolomics in immune cells requires specialized knowledge, therefore the candidate will have expertise with cell culture techniques and experience with common in vivo and ex vivo models used in immunology research.

The preferred candidate will also have interdisciplinary experience in the principles of biochemistry and analytical chemistry. The Assistant Research Scientist will work collaboratively with immunometabolism focused investigators and carry out the analysis of specific projects and datasets, working closely with other staff and clients of the NYU Metabolomics Core Resource Laboratory.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Application of scientific protocols to research samples
  • Collaborative research and development of immunometabolism-specific methods
  • Operation of analytical instrumentation e.g., LCMS
  • Analysis of biological datasets and client interaction
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the organizations core values
  • Carry out experimental methods according to standard operating procedures
  • Continue to develop scientific knowledge through active participation in meetings, conferences, and relevant training.

    questions when in doubt and utilizes reference sources/materials to ensure accuracy.
    Advises appropriate personnel of situations/problems requiring intervention
    or follow-up attention.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:


To qualify you must have a MS degree in a related discipline and 0-1 year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:


Ph.D. in Biology/Immunology or closely related field
Experience with immunometabolism research
Experience with LCMS instrumentation and data analysis
Experience with analytical chemistry
1+ year of postdoctoral research experience
