Position Summary:


We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Talent Acquisition Specialist.


In this role, the successful Talent Acquisition Specialist recruits, interviews and selects qualified applicants for positions in the administrative, allied health, research, professional, or managerial areas. This position also partners with the Internal Career Planning Team in the placement of internal candidates.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the recruitment process. Sources, screens, and evaluates candidates. Checks candidates? credentials and references.
  • Utilizes effective recruitment techniques and develops long term relationships with schools, professional associations, publications, and agencies to broaden pool of potential applicants. Coordinates and oversees recruitment outreach programs, open houses, job fairs, career days, and related recruitment activities for events both onsite and offsite. May attend research oriented conferences to stay up to date on the latest trends in the industry.
  • Partners with departments throughout the full cycle of recruitment which includes providing input on prospective candidates, giving guidance on how to interview applicants, and advising on salary negotiations.
  • Identifies job seekers by engaging with them and with the NYU Langone?s brand (i.e. careers site, social media, banner ads, etc.). Utilizes sourcing tools available to identify qualified candidates (such as Candidate Relationship Management tool, HiringSolved, LinkedIn, Indeed, or any new resource available).
  • Builds strong and effective relationships with department heads to develop marketing strategies and events to recruit and secure top talent. Develops effective marketing strategies in collaboration with advertising agency.
  • Participates in various projects. Coordinates annual STEM day with NYC Dept. of Education. Contributes to various HR committees to create educational programs to facilitate internal career advancement within the research mission.
  • Maintains an active awareness of NYU Langone Health?s commitment to affirmative action/EEO goals and incorporates those goals when planning recruitment strategies and activities. Develops relationships with niche organizations that facilitate access to a diverse talent pool.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor?s Degree in Human Resources or Management with a minimum of three years of recruiting and/or interviewing experience in healthcare.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Applicant Tracking Systems plus knowledge of PeopleSoft.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, as well as, consultative skills with the ability to understand the needs and urgency of assigned customer base are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of SilkRoad Recruiting
  • Prior experience recruiting research professionals
