SUMMARY

The Lean Project Manager will join our exciting Advanced Engineering Team at McNeilus Truck Company! In this role, the Lean Project Manager will allocate the majority of his/her time towards supporting NPD introduction into manufacturing, and leading or supporting large scale operational transformation. The Lean Project Manager will also be viewed as a coach/mentor to other members of the Team and have the opportunity to readily contribute to others growth as well as expand their own personal development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Join our Advanced Engineering Team and lead the implementation of new products and option content into production.
  • Play a role as a supporting member on an Operational Transformation Team, performing full-scale line and plant re-design from the ground up.
  • Partner with Best in Industry companies to research and review the potential to implement innovation and new technology into our operating environment
  • Assist in developing the Lean culture, including identification of improvement opportunities at facility and coordinating/leading improvement teams with a core focus on elimination of waste & non-value-added activities.
  • Manage and/or support multiple medium to large scale improvement projects throughout our operations annually
  • Serve as a Lean/Process Improvement subject matter expert and coach individuals and teams on the usage of core methodologies and principles
  • Utilize Lean/Six Sigma principles and methodologies in making process improvements
  • Participate in safety meetings; investigate root cause & corrective actions for safety incidents
  • Collaborate with production and other teams by attending scheduled meetings to ensure timely improvements on processes
  • BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor?s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field
  • Three plus years related experience
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Self-Starter with strong self-motivation and organization skills
  • Demonstrated project management experience leading medium to large size projects
  • Certified in Lean and/or Six Sigma
  • Working knowledge of Solid Works, AutoCAD, and 3D software such as FlexSim
  • Highly skilled with all Microsoft Office Suites programs (Excel, Project, Word, Visio)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • High level of demonstrated process design and/or improvement knowledge & experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment with a high operational tempo
  • Bi-lingual communicator
