Global Science and Technology (GST) - Comparative Medicine is seeking for a highly motivated and innovation driven candidate (as a Principal Scientist). The candidate will report to the site head of GST and work with a talented team in developing translational animal models and imaging endpoints in oncology and vaccines therapeutic areas. The candidate should have in-depth expertise in developing in vivo animal models, pre-clinical drug discovery research, imaging technologies and software tools for data and image analysis.

Collaborate/Innovate with scientists at research units and partner lines to develop novel translational animal models and imaging methodologies.
Independently develop study design to evaluate efficacy, PK/PD, biomarker and safety endpoints.
An active learner of technology, analytical tools and therapeutic area to address the rapid developments in the field.
Work across Comparative Medicine sites and therapeutic areas to harness the animal models and technology expertise.
Collaborate with Comparative Medicine colleagues to ensure flawless animal care and enhance 3R's of animal welfare.
Manage, train and mentor junior scientists in a direct or a matrixed structure.
Independently develop manuscripts, reports, posters, presentations to communicate internally with project teams and externally for scientific communications.
Must work in compliance with the United States Department of Agriculture Animal Welfare Act and associated Regulations and Standards, the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, AAALAC accreditation standards, and under local IACUC guidelines.

PhD required; DVM is preferred.
5-10 years of experience in an academic or an industry setting, with knowledge of drug discovery research.
Strong scientific and technical expertise in evaluating in vivo pharmacology, biomarkers and immune-mechanisms.
Oncology animal modeling including tumor xenografts and genetically engineered mice models.
Experience in translational imaging technologies.
Proficiency with at least one image analysis and visualization package (e.g. AMIDE, OsiriX, Amira, VivoQuant, etc.).
Good communication skills and Experience in independent study conduct, problem solving, and representation at multi-disciplinary project team.
Has authored manuscripts, study reports and made internal and external presentations.
Experience in Ultrasound Imaging and analysis.
Experience in performing in vitro/ex vivo analysis like FACS, ELISA etc.
People management experience (1-2 years).
