The Opportunity

Premion is hiring a Vice President of Sales will assume leadership and development of Premion's national agency, Premion Direct Markets and Data Solutions revenue teams.

Currently TEGNA employs salesforces in 42 US markets within its station groups and regional markets who are representing Premion within those and their surrounding markets. The right person for this role is a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced collaborative environment. The person also has strong communication and relationship development and management skills.

This position could be based in New York, NY, or Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage all sales efforts for Premion Direct Sales teams nationwide, including national agency (e.g. tier 2), regional and local clients in non-TEGNA major markets, major accounts and data solutions.
  • Develop and execute a strategic revenue plan that achieves goals and grows market share within targeted accounts and categories.
  • Leverage and develop existing and new relationships with agencies and major clients, nationwide - create a client first customer service mentality that sets the example for the entire sales organization.
  • Expand current set of major markets to secondary non-TEGNA markets.
  • Launch and manage sales efforts around our data solutions to agencies, advertisers, marketers, publishers and other third parties (e.g. DSPs).
  • Attract and develop a team of high performers who bring key relationships and the track record of success and leadership in their career. Create opportunities for them to see growth and success in their careers at Premion.
  • Quickly establish yourself as a subject matter expert in all things OTT, digital video and related advertising solutions and data applications.
  • Collaborate with TEGNA sales leadership and station teams and other third party sales teams to maximize revenue for Premion overall.
  • Communicate clearly with inventory and ad operations teams to maximize all client and category opportunities
  • Partner with Premion Marketing to target, develop and maximize Premion's business and brand in specific markets and with specific account types and categories.
  • Recognize the changing media landscape and adjust strategy and tactical plans quickly

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Balances strategy and execution with a strong attention to detail and roll up your sleeves mentality. Leads by example.
  • Sets the example for communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, team and leadership skills
  • Excellent team development and management skills.
  • Exhibits strong problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of media sales experience in key markets including New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.
  • Knowledge of all facets of OTT, TV Everywhere and/or digital video - background in linear and digital
  • Proven strategic, innovative and execution focused leader with record of achievement
  • Proven track record of driving high growth businesses and scaling teams in fast moving and competitive environment.
  • Develops and leads integrated revenue strategy
  • Advanced CRM system experience; Salesforce.com experience preferred
  • Ability to travel 30-40% of the time
