Develop an annual federal and state government relations strategy.
Assist in the development of state government relations strategies and oversee campus activities that support these endeavors.
Attend and participate in government and community meetings.
Develop professional relationships with legislators and staff, relevant agencies, and other professional organizations while building strategic partners and champions of the College.
This position reports to the Senior Vice President, External and College Relations and is responsible to the President. As a central service role, the GR Director serves campuses and campus personnel through the guidance and development of GR and community activities.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required, master's degree preferred
Three years relevant work experience in government affairs or government service
Familiarity with government processes and procedures and an understanding of state and federal policies is required
Ability to travel as needed and work in a fast paced environment is important
The role requires an ability to be accountable and self-directed
