What you ll do

In the Finance Data Scientist role you will assist the SAS Finance division in mining the complex enterprise financial, human capital and sales data to provide informed analysis and valuable insights.

You will

? Collaborate with IT to prepare and manipulate structured and unstructured Finance, HR, and Sales data for data discovery and mining from multiple disparate resources.
? Build high-end analytic models, utilizing supervised and unsupervised learning models, to support business leaders with data driven insights that address immediate business problems and objectives.
? Create informative visualizations that intuitively display large amounts of data and/or complex relationships; translates data analytics into coherent reports and presentations for internal and external customer with varying degrees of technical knowledge.
? Assist in developing reporting strategies and recommends tools for optimal use of analytical data.
? May have a specialty around machine learning, artificial intelligence, pattern recognition, optimization or advanced statistics.
? Routinely uses anonymized or encrypted data.
? Prototype solutions using varied resources, including SAS software and open source software.
What we re looking for

? You re curious, passionate, authentic and accountable. These are our and influence everything we do.
? Bachelor s degree in Business Analytics Finance or Statistics or related field; Master s degree a plus.
? 1 year of relevant experience analyzing data and/or building statistical models.
? Experience working with financial data and with distilling information into concise presentations.
The nice to haves

? Foundational knowledge of applied statistics, data modeling techniques, predictive modeling techniques and in-sample and out-of-sample model assessment.
? Knowledge of at least one operating system supported by SAS software .
? SAS certification.
? Knowledge of Financial, HR or Sales data.
? Ability to communicate with people of various technical and non-technical backgrounds, think analytically, write and edit technical material, and relate statistical concepts and applications to statistical and non-statistical SAS users.
? Ability to gather requirements, develop plan and communicate results.
? Strong presentation and project management skills

? Have strong technical and non-technical communication skills both written and verbal.
? Work well with at least two operating systems supported by our software.
? Work well on your own and as part of a team.
