  • What you will do

    In this role, you will support research for our Trauma & Extremities business by collecting, cataloging and distributing technical and commercial information from a variety of internal and external sources to meet the information needs of Medical Affairs, R&D, Marketing and other internal teams. You will manage the Trauma & Extremities scientific library, including evaluating and managing new and existing vendor relationships and researching and investigating the availability of data for special organization requirements.

    Your ability to build strong, effective partnerships with internal teams and information vendors as well as your eye for continuous process and systems improvement will enable you to solve problems through a consultative approach, ensure reliability and quality in our products and contribute to producing industry leading product innovations.

    This position will be home-based, with proximity to our Mahwah, NJ facility for frequent meetings and other events.

    Specific responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain Trauma & Extremities library system; including all administrative functions
  • Selecting, developing, cataloging and classifying library resources and coordination and administration of scientific publications
  • Collect and store incoming publications and enter them into the virtual scientific library
  • Maintain library inventory and conduct periodic audits of the information on file
  • Serve as the main point of contact for literature inquiries and requests and for the creation and maintenance of literature tracking and reporting
  • Monitor deadlines and goals related to the scientific library and establish, monitor and evaluate overall program
  • Develop, implement and evaluate policies and procedures for Library Services
  • Maintain an awareness of current library issues and trends affecting all library departments
  • What you need

  • Masters of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited college or university with an emphasis in cataloging or any equivalent combination of education and/or training
  • At least 5 years of experience working with electronic databases of library materials
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, written and oral communication as well as organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to establish professional expertise through familiarity with scientific literature, product portfolio, and the competitive and healthcare environments
  • Must be adaptable, and able to apply knowledge to new practices.
  • Must have the ability to apply principles of library science to solve practical problems in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Must have working knowledge of computer applications for library services and database development skills
