Job ID : 90072BRLocation :US - North Carolina - High PointJob Description SUMMARY The primary responsibility of this position is to effectively manage all aspects of import and export activities, and serve as the Foreign Trade Zone Administrator for the Patheon Softgels facility in HighPoint NC. This position must ensure all activities are performed in complete compliance with all US Customs Regulations while providing the best possible service and cost to internal and external customers. Will manage and ensure continued C-TPAT compliance for the Patheon High Point facility. As the FTZ Administrator at the High Point facility, this position will ensure compliance with all FTZ regulations, be responsible for the accuracy of all FTZ data reporting via Smart Zone software, and be the primary point of contact with the local Port Director. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for ensuring compliance with all U.S. and various Global Customs regulations for all import and export shipments, including those processed through the Foreign Trade Zone. Update and maintain overall Customs Compliance Procedures to ensure Patheon Softgels is operating best practices related to entry release of merchandise and has knowledge of all areas of US Customs Regulations, including Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Section Notes, researches Customs binding rulings and Export Regulations Manage C-TPAT relationship with US Department of Homeland Security. Preparation and submission of FTZ related customs forms, annual reports and all other supportingdocumentation to ensure we meet government regulations. Preparation and submission of all import and export documentation as well as follow-up and coordination with brokers on all imports and exports for the High Point facility. This position will work directly with US Customs Agency personnel, the local Port Director and customs brokers on all activities relating to the import and export of goods. Daily FTZ activities will include inventory reconciliation, auditing procedures, inventory control processes, verification of all inventory movements, and verification of all files for accuracy. Through continuing education, must maintain up to date knowledge of all import and export regulations to provide internal advice and council on import and export activities. Manage C-TPAT relationship with US Department of Homeland Security to ensure continued compliance with all rules and regulations for the High Point facility. Will participate in compliance audits and develop and conduct internal training programs for compliance. Edit or create, as needed, Trade Compliance Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and FTZ Procedures Manual. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor degree and 5 years experience, or a minimum 10 years hands on experience processing and/or managing import and export activities. Experience in Supply Chain management, Foreign Trade Zone management or Inventory Control is a plus. Working knowledge of Foreign Customs and FTA regulations a plus, as is working knowledge of the HTS and Explanatory Notes; possess the ability to determine proper classification of goods (raw materials, finished goods, machinery, parts, etc.). Previous experience with Smart Zone software, ERP software systems, especially SAP, and Customs Broker experience or Broker License a plus. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedure, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond toquestions from groups, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commission, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability toapply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to analyze data and draw conclusions leading to prudent business decisions. Must be able to use a personal computer running Windows OS, with standard Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel and PowerPoint. Previous experience using SAP, JDE, or BPCS is desirable. Must be able to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure. Must know, or have the ability to learn and apply US Import regulations, HTS Classification, proper use of customs forms, and C-TPAT regulations in the execution of daily activity. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Customs Broker License is preferred, and CSCP is a plus.
