Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities: Ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of SDLC in an Agile development environment. Lead staff sizing and delivery/resource forecasting. Manage and negotiate scope with development and product partners and stakeholders. An eye for process changes and optimization to be more efficient and effective emphasizing time to market, transparency, and risk management. Organizational Effectiveness / People Skills: Provide leadership by establishing department and individuals goals. Ensure monthly releases are well planned and executed successfully. Responsible for assessing and recommending improvements to the organization structure, roles and responsibilities. Responsible for department and individual performance assessments and improvement plans. Responsible for coaching, counseling, assisting employees to develop individual career development and training plans. Create trust and credibility with stakeholders and customers and work with them to identify issues and opportunities. Remove roadblocks to delivery execution with diplomacy and a sense of urgency. Improves the quality of development in the organizations and promotes the best development practices, under the direction of management. Implement metrics to measure velocity and code quality to improve business value. Build transparency, accountability and collaboration in the distributed team. Technical /Professional Skills & Competencies - People/Leadership Skills: Manage team of DevOps, Infrastructure and scalability engineers Determine new, creative methods to employ teams on projects and distribute responsibilities. Lead the design and deployment pipeline for cloud and non-cloud projects. Closely work with development team in adopting best practices in all aspects of design and development. Implement robust monitoring and logging solutions. Optimize the application to leverage all the aspects of cloud (elasticity, logging, load balancing, blue-green deployment etc) Support applications hosted on-premise data center and public cloud. Adopt the standards defined by the center of excellence and SRE teams. Establish and monitor continuous deployment, including development and management of the pipeline Provide continuous integration, automated build, automated deployment, and environment management knowledge transfer to staff Identifies opportunities for change and develops plans for capitalizing on these opportunities. Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of progressively responsible software engineering and DevOps experience Experience designing and implementing end to end Continuous Delivery pipelines Cloud (AWS or Azure etc.) experience in a production environment (e.g. network, security, deployment, automation, serverless technologies) Knowledge of Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Ansible) Experience collaborating with multiple functional/technical teams to deliver a project Demonstrated growth mindset, enthusiastic about learning new technologies quickly and applying the gained knowledge to address business problems 5+ years experience automating software builds to support continuous integration, using a centralized configuration management strategy Experience in building disaster recovery for enterprise applications. Ability to manage large, complex projects from start to finish Knowledge of source control management using Git and TFS. Understanding of Continuous deployment and Continuous Deployment delivery processes and solutions. Broad understanding of industry trends around scaling and resiliency of core systems Ability to influence peers and leadership. Asset control and security compliance.
