*The Role*



The Wealth and Investment (WIM) Risk Analytics team is seeking a lead analyst to join our team as an Analytical Consultant 3 who can drive forward solutions focused on business problems related to Operational Risk, Financial Crimes, Supervision, and Surveillance. The group is comprised of client focused business leaders who transcend staff function roles by enabling actionable insights, metrics and information that informs business choices and drives measurable results across the Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) division. Broadly, our group is a centralized analytics team that provides deep analytic thought and rigor in support of Risk (Credit, Investment, and Operational), Financial Crimes, Supervision, and Surveillance.



In general, an *AC3* is Responsible for very complex partner assignments to identify and define strategic business issues that require analyses and translates this information into insight, knowledge and understanding of the business and the industry. Consults and performs very complex analyses/ analysis design involving data mining from multiple sources and/or predictive modeling, regression/multivariate financial, comparative analysis, customer/demographic analysis, etc. Analytics involved generally span multiple functional areas/business lines/data sources. Responsibilities also include identifying opportunities for additional statistical models and/or creating sophisticated computer modeling approaches to analyze and forecast business performance; participating in and/or leading management information capabilities development work; interpreting and presenting results of analyses and recommendations to senior management. Ensures adherence to data management/data governance regulations and policies. Data involved may be very large, structured or unstructured, and from multiple sources. To a certain degree, may be involved directly or indirectly in the technical build-out and/or support of databases, query tools, reporting tools, BI tools, dashboards, etc. that enable analysis, modeling, and/or data visualization. Leads project/virtual teams & mentors lower level staff.



*Primary Responsibilities:*



* Utilize a strong technical, analytical skillset (SAS, SQL, R, Python) to navigate multiple databases in order to extract the data necessary to perform complex analyses.

* Create end-to-end analysis from data extraction to end-state manifestations, whether in a business intelligence solution or PowerPoint presentations.

* Interact and effectively communicate with a variety of technical and non-technical team members.

* Influences opinions of others and drives what is best for the business.

* Builds strong relationships with business leaders through proactive communication, taking time to understand business needs while providing a consultative, analytical and punctual approach to problem solving.

* Act as an equal partner and trusted advisor to the business by collaborating and engaging with our group's Modeling, Business Intelligence, and Data Infrastructure teams to provide the appropriate capabilities to the business problem.

* Ability to take a business problem or project from beginning to end with very limited guidance from leadership



Required Qualifications:



* 5+ years of reporting experience, analytics experience, or a combination of both; or a BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 3+ years of reporting experience, analytics experience, or a combination of both

* 3+ years of SQL experience

* 3+ years of SAS experience

* Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis

* Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

* Microsoft Excel spreadsheets experience importing, exporting, and manipulating data

* Tableau experience

* Ability to dissect technical problems, analyze data, and recommend potential solutions

* Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities

* Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques

* Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment

* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including high level of proficiency in modeling

* Knowledge and understanding of database analysis and development

* Knowledge and understanding of database querying and creating ad hoc reporting results using TSQL or similar querying methods

* Outstanding problem solving skills

* Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
